Serious Concerns Over Intent to Dispossess 70% of Wealthy Individuals: Statement

Member of the 'Alternative Projects' group, Elinar Vardanyan, has issued a statement: 'Days ago, a representative of the ruling political force voiced the intent to dispossess 70% of large businesses and wealthy individuals.

I purposefully refrained from responding immediately, hoping that a senior leader from the new government would deny or provide additional clarification regarding the comments made by their parliament member. However, that did not happen. The authorities either do not realize the dangers of what was said or are articulating their forthcoming plans through the words of their representative. I want to inform you that this statement has caused serious concern within business circles and cannot be ignored or forgotten.

I see it as my duty to warn: the implementation or attempts to realize this idea will jeopardize the economy of Armenia. The country will face economic collapse. There will be no active business environment, and investments will dwindle. Legally, we will encounter absolute lawlessness, laying the groundwork for the redistribution of property and ongoing shadow transactions and subsequent vendettas.'
