Gas Prices Rise as Competition Protection Authority Investigates Market
The State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia reported changes in gasoline prices following monitoring at several gas stations in the capital. Specifically, the price of regular gasoline per liter has increased from 400 to 410 drams, while the premium variety has risen from 420 to 430 drams. Overall, the price hike amounts to 10 drams per liter.
Gayana Sahakyan, an advisor to the Chairman of the Commission, informed Armenpress about this development. She noted that there had been a price change in the gasoline market since the beginning of the year, moving in a downward direction, with a continuous decrease of 50 drams per liter.
In order to investigate the reasons and justifications for these changes, the Commission initiated a large-scale study in this market back in January, which is still ongoing. The public will be informed of the findings upon the completion of the comprehensive study of the gasoline market.
