Ukraine Has Lost Crimea: Scandal During Eurovision 2019 National Selection
The candidates representing Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, sisters Anna and Maria Opanasyuk, have refused to refer to Crimea as Ukrainian on national television, stating, "Ukraine has lost Crimea."
According to Gazeta.ru, during an interview with the ATR television channel, the singers attempted to provide evasive answers regarding Crimea, but under persistent questioning from the host, they were ultimately forced to respond.
"We will not say the words you want to hear from us," one of the sisters said, continuing that Ukraine has lost Crimea.
