Candy with Azerbaijani Label Discovered in Armenian Stores

Candy labeled in Azerbaijani has been discovered in Armenian stores. This was reported by Armenia Sputnik, referencing the head of the Food Safety State Service, Georgi Avetisyan.

"The candy did not have labeling in Armenian, but it did have labeling in Azerbaijani. There were multiple languages present on the label, but Armenian was absent," Avetisyan stated in an interview with the news outlet.

He noted that this is a violation of Armenian legislation, and it indicates that the candies were not meant for export to Armenia: "We could not find the importer. The candies were purchased from the 'Surmalu' market. They either entered Armenia through smuggling or under the framework of individual customs-free import of 25 or 50 kg," Avetisyan remarked.

It's worth mentioning that these candies are the Italian-made 'Raffaello' and 'Ferrero Rocher' products by 'Ferrero SpA', but they were imported into Armenia not by the official representative Armenian company of 'Ferrero SpA', but rather by some unclear organization.
