Maduro Closes Border with Brazil

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has announced that the land border with Brazil has been completely closed since February 21 at 20:00, according to TASS.

Moreover, Maduro added that the closure of the border is necessary to maintain the country's security.

Earlier, Brazil's press secretary, Otávio Santana do Rego Barros, reported that the government is creating a special group tasked with delivering humanitarian aid to the Venezuelan opposition. Other countries have also expressed their willingness to provide humanitarian assistance at the request of the Venezuelan opposition.

Maduro labeled this initiative as a ‘cheap and bad show of oligarchy’ and urged residents not to accept the aid.
