Explosion Reported at the H. Buniatyan Institute of Biochemistry

On February 21, at 12:36 PM, the emergency hotline received a call reporting a fire at the H. Buniatyan Institute of Biochemistry located at 5/1 Paruir Sevak Street in Yerevan.

A firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that an explosion had occurred in a room (approximately 30 sq. meters) involving an air ventilation device (about 5 sq. meters), which resulted in a fire breaking out. No chemical leaks were detected at the scene.

The fire was contained by 12:51 PM and extinguished by 1:02 PM.

The equipment was completely destroyed, and two windows (each 4 meters long) were displaced and partially damaged. There were no injuries reported.
