We have directed 4.5% of bonuses towards charity, says Ararat Governor

In an interview with Tert.am, Ararat Governor Garik Sargsyan revealed how the awarded civil servants have utilized their bonuses.

The governor noted that a legislative draft is currently being developed regarding the principles by which civil servants will receive bonuses. According to Sargsyan, the 104.5% bonus allocation was due to some purely technical issues, which have since been addressed.

“As we promised, we have directed those 4.5% bonuses towards charity, and in fact, we contributed even more than that amount, but we did not want to publicize it because we didn't want to use the families or children as a backdrop for our PR,” Sargsyan concluded.

He also stated that, just as when he was the head of the Nor Kaghak community, he feels obliged to fight against corruption now as well.

“I am not going to retreat for even a minute from this idea. There have been revelations in the governor's office as well, and there are criminal cases that have been initiated, as well as cases currently disputed in court. I do not wish to elaborate, but we will continue on the path we have taken; corruption must be eradicated in our country, and there should be no place for corrupt individuals in our nation,” he said.
