Photos: Armenian Hero Who Rescued Children from Fire in Russia is Evicted from Home

In Russia, a court has ruled to evict Gevorg Avetisyan, who rescued three children from a burning house in Yekaterinburg, along with his wife and their five children. The family is now facing a difficult situation.

As Gevorg told the NTV television channel in an interview, the part of the duplex where his family lives belonged to the company where his wife Tatiana's father worked. The other apartment in the building is occupied by Tatiana's sister's family.

Tatiana has lived in that apartment since birth and never imagined she was living there illegally until a conflict arose with her sister, who subsequently filed a lawsuit.

“Everyone is indifferent, no one wants to help in any way,” said the father of the family.

The large family is not being officially put out on the street. Tatiana has a residence permit for her sister's apartment, but the place is only 30 square meters, and her sister is not keen on accommodating the large family.

The young couple is also unable to secure a mortgage, as Tatiana is on maternity leave, and Gevorg is a citizen of Armenia, despite having moved to Russia 14 years ago.

It is worth noting that about a month ago, Gevorg was honored for his heroic act with an award and a fire extinguisher.
