Alexander Sargsyan, the brother of Serzh Sargsyan, has voluntarily transferred $18.5 million to the state. This information was provided in response to a written inquiry by CivilNet from the Prime Minister's Office.
The media outlet sent a request to the government to clarify how many donations of property, money, and other forms have been promised to the Republic of Armenia since May 2018, by whom, and how much has already been fulfilled.
“During the period of various criminal cases and investigative actions initiated against Alexander Azat Sargsyan, he voluntarily transferred a sum equivalent to $18.5 million to the state,” stated the government’s response.
According to a decision by the Investigative Department of the National Security Service (NSS), a lien was imposed on Alexander Sargsyan's property on July 9, 2018.
