School Director Appoints Husband as Electrician-Plumber, Watchman, and Furnace Keeper; Approximately 4 Million Dram Embezzled
In the framework of unveiling previously committed corruption-related crimes, operational and investigative measures led by the General Department of Fight Against Organized Crime of the police have revealed that the director of School No. 1 in the Garni community has committed abuses.
Through joint efforts of the General Department and the Kotayk division, it was determined that from 2004 to 2017, the school director consecutively appointed her husband as the school's electrician-plumber, watchman, and furnace keeper. However, her husband did not actually attend work, and his salary, totaling 3,949,000 dram, was embezzled.
A criminal case has been initiated at the police regarding the embezzlement of especially large amounts. The circumstances are under investigation.
