Charges Filed Against 17 Individuals Over Shooting Incident Near 'Partez' Restaurant
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has conducted extensive investigative actions in relation to the criminal case initiated following a shooting incident near the 'Partez' restaurant complex. Based on gathered evidence, charges have been filed against 17 individuals.
As previously reported, on January 29, 2019, around 1 AM, a dispute occurred near the 'Partez' restaurant complex located on Arzni Highway in Abovyan city, escalating into a shooting incident involving various types of firearms. As a result of the gunfire, 8 individuals sustained gunshot wounds, including Artashes Gevorgyan, a 1989-born resident of Abovyan, who succumbed to his injuries.
Following the necessary investigative actions and operational-search measures, the motive behind the dispute was clarified, and data concerning the involved parties was obtained.
Currently, 17 individuals hold the status of suspects in the criminal case. Charges have been pressed against 3 of them under Articles 34-104, 258 (part 4), and 235 (part 1) of the RA Criminal Code; 1 individual under Articles 34-104, 258 (part 4), 258 (part 3), and 235 (part 1); 10 individuals under Article 258 (part 4); 2 individuals under Article 258 (part 3, clause 1) and 258 (part 4); and 1 individual under Article 258 (part 4) and 235 (part 1). Of the accused, 6 are subjected to imprisonment as a preventive measure, and a search has been declared for 1 individual.
