Black Ice and Impassable Roads: Updated

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 16 at 08:20, there are impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Sotk-Karmir Shuka road is currently impassable due to black ice.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers.

There are patches of black ice on the Goris-Kapan road.

Snow is present on the Saravan-Zanger road.

Fog is reported at the Vardenyats Pass.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Regarding Lars

According to the information received from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepanavan-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Construction Works are Ongoing

Construction works are taking place from the 39th km of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road to the Bagratashen section.

Alternative routes for transport have been defined as follows:

For inter-community transportation to Alaverdi and Vanadzor cities and nearby settlements:

  1. Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aygehart-Odzun-Alaverdi through sections leading to the Georgian border.

Since June 30, 2018, construction works have been ongoing at the 139th km of the Yerevan-Meghri road, causing a approximately 200 m section to be closed for one-way traffic.
