Attraction Cable Snaps in Tsaghkadzor, Citizen Injures Foot; Activities Halted

In Tsaghkadzor, certain amusement attractions are failing to adhere to safety regulations. This issue was reported to AuororaNews, which followed up on the complaint.

A citizen who contacted AuororaNews specifically stated: “There are balloons for sliding on the snow that we used on Sunday. Halfway up the climb, the cable snapped, and the person seated in the balloon slid back at high speed and collided with another individual, injuring their foot. Right before our eyes, the same severed cable was patched up, and they continued operating.”

According to this citizen, they approached the staff to inquire why they were continuing to use the worn-out cable, endangering people's lives:

“We asked why they were reattaching the severed cable, warning that someone else could get hurt after us; they didn’t raise any objection, and there was no response at all.”

In a conversation with AuororaNews, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Satenik Asilyan, stated that the activities of such organizations are not under the ministry's control.

AuororaNews reached out to Garik Hayrapetyan, the deputy mayor of Tsaghkadzor, to verify whether they were aware of the issue and if the sector was being monitored in any way.

Mr. Hayrapetyan, having reviewed the complaint, confirmed details and shortly after stated that the operations of the mentioned organization have been temporarily suspended: “I have prohibited operations. Until all cables and gondolas are secured, they will call and inform us when everything is normal. We will go and ensure there are no issues before they reopen. I will personally monitor this and only if serious changes occur will they resume operations.”
