VIDEO: A Housewife Found Weapons and Ammunition While Cleaning the Cellar
The police continue the process of discovering illegally held weapons and ammunition, emphasizing community outreach. As a result of the explanatory work by the officers of the Aragatsotn regional department and the Ashtarak division, a voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition was recorded on February 4.
At around 5 PM, a resident of the Karbi community approached the Ashtarak police division and presented an AKM-type rifle with a factory number and 47 cartridges of various calibers. She reported that she found the rifle while cleaning the cellar; it had belonged to her late husband, who acquired it during the Artsakh Liberation War.
The presented items have been sent for forensic examination. The police once again urge anyone with illegally held weapons and ammunition to voluntarily surrender them to the police, as this is the only way to be exempt from criminal charges related to illegal possession.
