Panic at Shirak Airport: Pobeda Passengers Left Stranded in Gyumri

The Russian airline Pobeda has caught passengers by surprise with the cancellation of the Gyumri-Moscow flight. The flight, scheduled for today at 20:00, did not arrive in Gyumri, and no explanations were provided to ticket holders. This was reported by Haykakan Jhamanak.

“When we tried to find out what the issue was, they said the flight was not delayed or re-scheduled but was completely canceled. There is no compensation either. They said the money would be refunded in a month. It’s terrible. We had purchased five round-trip tickets from Pobeda to come to Gyumri, paying 40,000 rubles. We were supposed to leave today. This happened, and now there’s no compensation. I have to go anyway; I’m headed to Yerevan; I ordered tickets, there’s no other choice, I will have to pay 80,000 rubles for one ticket to reach my destination,” said one of the passengers in an interview with the media.

The media highlights that the situation is particularly dire for those passengers who needed to continue their journey from Moscow. The number of travelers heading to Surgut was notably high. No one was present to explain the circumstances to these confused and effectively deceived individuals and clarify how the compensation issue would be resolved, nor how they would reach Moscow to continue their journey.

In fact, the Russian airline deceived 180 passengers on the Gyumri-Moscow flight today, who had arrived in Gyumri days earlier, holding round-trip tickets bought from Moscow.

Incidentally, the same panic occurred at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport. A Facebook user, deprived of the chance to fly to Moscow with Pobeda, wrote: “My son got stuck in Moscow; he couldn't return on that flight to Leninakan. I had to scramble to exchange tickets. It's the worst company. People were getting upset at the airport, and no one was explaining anything. Pobeda had issues with some operators, but it wasn’t the passengers’ fault.”
