Video: Woman Sent Drugs from Germany to Armenia via Haypost

In January, employees from the General Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Police and the State Revenue Committee received information indicating that a woman named Aida Arakelyan had sent a shipment containing "Subutex" drugs to Yerevan resident Sona Avagyan via Haypost.

The Armenian Police reported that during the inspection of the shipment, 279 whole and 4 broken white oval pills were found in a plastic container filled with a white cream. Subsequent examinations confirmed that the pills contained the drug type "Buprenorphine."

Within the framework of the criminal case initiated, employees from the Department for Combating Illegal Drug Circulation, along with the State Revenue Committee, carried out urgent and extensive operational-investigative measures and apprehended Sona Avagyan and Hasmik Karapetyan on February 2 from Sebastia Street in Yerevan.

It was determined that Avagyan was supposed to transfer the drugs sent in her name to Karapetyan. Measures are being taken to identify the sender, Aida Arakelyan. The investigation into the initiated criminal case is ongoing.
