Samvel Babayan's Car Seized, To Be Auctioned: "Hraparak"
Years ago, there was considerable coverage regarding the debts of Samvel Babayan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army. In particular, it became known that the State Revenue Committee had placed a lien on Babayan's car and would put it up for auction, as reported by his creditor, former pilot, Artsakh war participant, and businessman Alexander Abrahamyan's family.
As of today, Abrahamyan has been unable to recover the debt, despite a legally binding decision made in favor of him to collect $400,000, or 164 million drams, from Samvel Babayan. Six years after the ruling, Babayan's legal representative appealed to the Court of Appeals and the Court of Cassation against the initial court's decision, but both courts upheld the ruling unchanged.
