10 Companies Operating Non-Metallic Mines Lose Licenses
In the last three months, 10 organizations operating non-metallic mines have been stripped of their licenses. Vardan Gevorgyan, Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources, informed journalists today.
“During this period, 12 companies operating metallic mines and more than 60 non-metallic mining operators received warnings. Out of the non-metallic mining operators, 10 have lost their licenses. This process is ongoing, and that number is constantly changing,” said the deputy minister.
According to him, the main reasons for the warnings and license revocations include consumption issues, unpaid fees, and lack of payments for environmental monitoring. In addition, there are contractual obligations that the companies have failed to meet.
