500 Million Dram Program for Yerevan Residents
Residents of Yerevan will soon have the opportunity to present project proposals to the city hall, which will be financed from the municipal budget. For this purpose, 1 million USD equivalent in Armenian Dram will be included and allocated in this year's budget.
During a working consultation, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan instructed the creation of an online platform where residents can submit their proposals, which will also be accessible to everyone, allowing the best suggestions to be distinguished.
"The budget belongs to the residents themselves, and they will manage it. One of the main and key points of our electoral program was direct democracy, which we must start implementing. We will allow our citizens to manage the budget and propose programs. For this purpose, 1 million USD equivalent in Armenian Dram will be allocated from the budget this year. This means that the residents of Yerevan will decide what programs they want to implement with that money. We also need to organize an online platform through which proposals will be presented. Of course, we will also accept proposals through traditional letters.
Once the programs are developed, those proposals that receive the most approval from the residents will be selected and implemented,” emphasized Hayk Marutyan.
