Why Are Meetings So Active? Political Scientist on the Pashinyan-Aliev Meeting

It is unclear why the meeting with Aliyev took place. This was stated by political scientist Haik Martirosyan on his Facebook page.

In his post, he particularly mentioned:

“What is Armenia's benefit from this? Why was there no information released beforehand, or why is there no information available now about the entire content of the discussions? The reasons for secrecy during the times of LTP, Kocharyan, and Sargsyan were known. There’s none of that now. In conditions of transparency, why is there still a lack of transparency?”

“Why are these meetings so active? What does the Armenian side aim for?”

“And one detail, which is still very significant: who is responsible for reminding the Armenian leader that during meetings with the leader of an enemy state, every movement, position, word, and posture has extremely significant importance and also real, tangible consequences? American presidents have been given detailed instructions for several hours before such meetings for decades, they practice with them and offer advice. Do those responsible for this issue, if such exist, understand that the Prime Minister's sitting position during that strange meeting should have simply been prevented or at least corrected on the go?”
