We Truly Envy Armenians: Saakashvili

The third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, during a meeting with Georgians in New York, spoke about the differences between Armenians and Georgians, as reported by Armtimes.com.

“For example, when a Georgian hears that one of his compatriots has succeeded in California, instead of being happy, the first reaction is to say, ‘Look at that idiot: he was my classmate, we used to hit him on the head, send him cigarettes... how did he achieve success?’” said Saakashvili, continuing to talk about Armenians.

“We truly envy Armenians. Whenever you ask them, everyone is Armenian. I pity them. However, when you ask a Georgian who they don’t like, they will say it’s an Armenian, including half of Georgia – and I’m one of them,” Saakashvili said, eliciting laughter from the audience.
