Dissatisfaction in the City Hall: 9 Vehicles Acquired Without a Competition

David Khajakyan, a member of Yerevan City Council's "Lus" alliance, made a post on his Facebook page regarding procedural violations in the acquisition of vehicles.

"Yesterday, an announcement was made on the city hall's official website stating that the community is becoming the operator responsible for street cleaning. Without commenting on the effectiveness and legality of that decision, we note that the announcement mentions that the new cars were acquired through a competition (see image 1). We hereby declare that the 9 vehicles from the Russian company 'KAMAZ' were acquired without a competition — through a single-source procurement process (see images 2 and 3).

The single-source procurement process also occurred with violations; however, the primary concern at this moment is that the purchase of 9 vehicles amounting to 414,000,000 AMD without a competition is unacceptable and has begun to take on a recurring nature," wrote the council member.

Earlier, it was reported that the city hall had acquired new snow removal vehicles.
