After Hrant Margaryan's Critical Speech, Pashinyan Sends 'Unexpected' Message: 'Zhoghovurd'
According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', on January 16, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message in connection with the ongoing 33rd General Assembly of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) in Artsakh. Notably, the ARF emphasized in their statement that the message was received 'unexpectedly' on the fifth day of the assembly.
For comments, 'Zhoghovurd' reached out to Vahagn Matinyan, a member of the ARF Supreme Body, but he stated that he was not aware of the content of the message. We inquired whether the message would be published. 'I cannot say anything. Most likely, the message was read during the assembly. If the assembly deems it necessary to publish it, it will be published,' he said.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the ARF is inclined to believe that Pashinyan’s move was aimed at maintaining relations with them, especially after their failure in the parliamentary elections when they did not secure a seat. The ARF believes that Pashinyan wants to avoid burning bridges, considering the role of the ARF in the Diaspora, especially since the Prime Minister aims to uphold his rating within the Diaspora.
Another noteworthy point is that the congratulatory message came after the speech of Hrant Margaryan from the ARF, where he criticized the new authorities.
