Sedrak Kocharyan Demands Denial from Vanetsyan

Sedrak Kocharyan Demands Denial from Vanetsyan

Today, the first court hearing against Vanetsyan took place, but it was postponed. By the court's decision, the plaintiff side must present evidence within three days that Sedrak Kocharyan is the owner of the "Congress" hotel.

Recall that the son of the second President of Armenia, Sedrak Kocharyan, has filed a lawsuit against NSS head Arthur Vanetsyan, demanding "compensation for defamation and a public denial" of the claim made by Vanetsyan during a press conference on September 11, 2018, that "Robert Kocharyan, by demanding a $6 million bribe, became a shareholder of the 'Congress' hotel."

The plaintiff side insisted on the full claim, while the defendant side objected. It should be noted that neither Sedrak Kocharyan nor Arthur Vanetsyan were present at the hearing.

Before the court session began, the judge asked whether the parties agreed to settle the dispute amicably. Sedrak Kocharyan's representative, Ani Alaverdyan, stated that they were not opposed to a settlement if the defendant side would deny the information that was published during the press conference.

Arthur Vanetsyan's representative, Vahagn Grigoryan, stated that they could not agree to a settlement as the plaintiff side views the settlement only in the form of satisfying the claim. The statements made by Vanetsyan do not relate to Sedrak Kocharyan.
