Mexico's President Claims Former Officials Responsible for Pipeline Blast
Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has stated that the culprits behind the powerful pipeline explosion on January 18, which claimed 89 lives, are representatives of past administrations.
"Those responsible are the ones who promoted and implemented that neoliberal policy, those who concealed corruption, protected it, and hid it. We want all of this to change," said Lopez Obrador.
When asked if the explosion could have been avoided, the Mexican president replied, "Of course, it could have been avoided if there was no corruption in Mexico, if fuel was not being stolen, if the authorities had not allowed this, and if people had not resorted to this act out of necessity."
