Inmate's Health Deteriorated Sharply, Reports Armenian Ministry of Justice

The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia informed SHANTNEWS.am that on January 20, around 18:00, the health of inmate S. Sahakyan at the Armavir penitentiary severely deteriorated, and emergency medical personnel who arrived at the facility confirmed biological death.

It is noted that he had been sentenced to 11 years and 6 months of imprisonment under Article 188, Part 1, Article 258, Part 3, Article 104, Part 1, and Article 34-268, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code. He had been previously convicted twice.

An investigation is underway regarding the incident, and a forensic medical examination has been ordered.
