Fire Turns Home in Ararat Region into Ashes, Causing Damage of Nearly 30 Million Drams
On January 19th, an emergency incident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 00:45, the emergency situations ministry's rescue service received a call to its 9-11 operational management center reporting a fire on the roof of a house at 35 Yerevanyan Highway in the village of Marmarashen, and the need for firefighters' assistance.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, there were eight family members in the house at the time, including two minors. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries. However, firefighters indicated that over 50 tons of water was poured onto the roof to extinguish the flames, raising concerns about the safety of remaining in the house.
The photojournalist reports that the homeowners have incurred significant material damage, with preliminary estimates suggesting the damage amounts to 25-30 million drams.
