We Have No Intention of Hitting Below the Belt: Sharmazanov
During today’s session of the Republican Party of Armenia, internal political issues and organizational matters were discussed. This was announced to journalists by the spokesman for the RPA, Eduard Sharmazanov.
He emphasized that special attention was given to Armenia's foreign policy. The RPA is concerned about the meetings between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the details of which are not known to the public, and there is no mention of the principles of resolution or the right of peoples to self-determination in the summary statements.
“We see that Ilham Aliyev and Elmar Mammadyarov are pinning some hopes on the negotiations. We are very interested in what these hopes are,” said Sharmazanov, adding, “If Pashinyan was fighting against us, we are fighting against the policy that does not safeguard the security of Armenia and Artsakh. We are not criticizing individuals, but the political line whose aim is not to hit below the belt but to make the criticism heard, so that the inexperienced government, which has accumulated a stockpile of mistakes over the past 9 months, can return to the right path.”
It is worth noting that the RPA session was held today under the leadership of the party's leader, Serzh Sargsyan. According to Sharmazanov, the issue of changing the party leadership is not being discussed.
