Bully Aram's Border Crossing Could Have Been Prevented: Publication

According to the newspaper "Hraparak", "Yesterday, the Special Investigation Service reported that former MP and minister Aram Harutyunyan has been charged with bribery and money laundering. The accusation against him involves receiving a bribe of 14 million USD, equivalent to 4.2 billion AMD, from businessman Silva Hambartsumyan, which we have presented multiple times. However, what stands out is the last section of the SSI's announcement: 'A warrant for Aram Harutyunyan has been issued.'

We had written on December 12 that Aram Harutyunyan had fled Armenia, and we had contacted the SSI to find out whether the investigator had seized his passport and to exclude the possibility that he could have left the country. However, they did not respond to us, citing 'the interests of the investigation'. Meanwhile, his movements, especially crossing the border, could have been prevented."
