Video: New Developments in the National Assembly - No Need to Showcase Anything, Says Alen Simonyan to Edmon Marukyan

"Mr. Marukyan is a bit different from the Marukyan of the previous Assembly. Look at whom you are blaming regarding human rights," said Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan today during a session.

Simonyan stated, "Who here is being insulted on Facebook? Do you want us to impose censorship? Such a thing cannot happen. Wouldn't it have been appropriate to say that there has been a response from the prime minister regarding the spitting incident? I understand that perhaps there is something to showcase now; there is no need for that at this stage, definitely not."

It should be noted that earlier we reported that the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' party, Edmon Marukyan, had inquired why there has been no word about the sensational recording.

"You will still hear that voice from European courts. It was not by chance that I inquired with the Speaker of the National Assembly whether we are planning to call and listen to people to understand which judges are making calls, where they are calling, and for what purpose they are calling. There is a case opened regarding the wiretapping, but as it seems, there is no word on it, no one is asking what happened, and I will specifically inquire about it," he stated.
