Will the Head of the SIS Resign?
'Zhoghovourd' newspaper reports: 'It is possible that the Head of the Special Investigation Service, Sasun Khachatryan, will soon bid farewell to his position. According to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's decision on December 20, Sasun Khachatryan took a one-day leave starting December 21, after which he returned to work.
However, according to reports circulating within the law enforcement system, it is not excluded that Sasun Khachatryan may be sent on leave again, this time indefinitely. For comments, 'Zhoghovourd' newspaper reached out to the press department of the SIS, where it was stated that in December Sasun Khachatryan had taken a short leave.
'In response to your question about the possibility of him going on leave again and not returning to his position, we would like to note that the service is operating at an overloaded capacity, and therefore Sasun Khachatryan does not intend to take leave,' they replied from the SIS.
