UK Parliament Rejects Brexit Agreement
In the UK, 432 parliamentarians have rejected the agreement with the EU regarding the terms of Brexit. This is reported by Reuters.
It is noted that the agreement was approved by both London and Brussels in November 2018, following 1.5 years of negotiations. A total of 202 lawmakers voted in favor of the agreement.
As a result, London has opened the door to a range of possible scenarios for the development of events, including a "hard" Brexit (exiting the EU without an agreement) or the cancellation of Brexit entirely.
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has urged the UK to outline its next steps as quickly as possible following such a voting outcome.
