The Arrangement of Deputy Speakers in the National Assembly Has Specific Significance: 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' newspaper writes: 'Yesterday, the leadership of the National Assembly was finally completed with deputies. With a vote, Alen Simonyan, Lena Nazaryan, and Vahe Enfiajyan joined Ararat Mirzoyan at the main podium.

We did not miss the arrangement of the deputies:

Lena Nazaryan sat in the place of Eduard Sharmazanov, on the right side of the National Assembly President, rather than the left, where the previous parliament's female deputy speakers used to sit. Alen Simonyan occupied the spot previously held by Arpine Hovhannisyan. Vahe Enfiajyan took the chair of Mikayel Melkumyan, positioning himself next to Alen Simonyan.

This arrangement clearly has a specific meaning. Firstly, Sharmazanov has been considered the first deputy of the National Assembly President for years and has usually replaced the President, especially during business trips.

By occupying Sharmazanov's place, Lena Nazaryan has immediately marked her status as the first deputy. However, it is also important that she seemingly does not want to sit in Arpine’s place to avoid being associated with Arpine Hovhannisyan, especially as social media has recently drawn parallels between the two young women, noting that Lena is attempting to take Arpine's place not only de jure but also de facto.
