Pensions Are Not Increasing, Gas Prices Have Risen, Shouldn't We Criticize? - Sharmazanov
“The authority of Armenia that does not assist Artsakh will sign its political death warrant within an hour. I believe that what has happened does not serve our state interests, and these past 8-9 months have shown that there is a danger directed both at the negotiation process for Artsakh and at Armenia’s international reputation, security, and value system,” stated Edward Sharmazanov, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia, in an interview with Henaran.am regarding the current political situation in Armenia.
Sharmazanov reminded that for the first time in Armenia's modern history, the country’s leader pointed a finger at the authorities of Artsakh during the election campaign.
He emphasized that he has repeatedly said he has no issues concerning individuals and has never had them. “But in the Artsakh issue, even these individuals do not have a concept. When I told them not to do that in the CSTO, the Prime Minister arrogantly stated on August 17 that there is a Republican MP who claims that Armenian-Russian relations have worsened,” he said.
He believes that the actions of the current government indeed warrant criticism, and turning a blind eye to them would be simply wrong. “Hundreds of civil servants have been laid off, pensions are not increasing, the price of gas has risen, so shouldn’t we criticize?” asked Sharmazanov.
