Criminal Prosecution Against Robert Kocharian Will Not Be Halted

The criminal prosecution against the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, will not be suspended. This follows the rejection of a motion submitted by his defense team on January 9, by the investigator of the Special Investigative Service.

The rejection of the motion was justified by the fact that the charges were brought based on sufficient evidence obtained in accordance with the law and that there are no circumstances precluding prosecution.

It is worth recalling that the motion stated that the charges against Robert Kocharian under Article 300.1 of the RA Criminal Code are illegal.
