Neo-Bolshevik Leaders Seek Comfort, Says Sharmazanov

The inaugural session of the new parliament began with a logic of one step forward, two steps back. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Republican Party of Armenia and former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Eduard Sharmazanov, on his Facebook page.

He notably remarked:

“It turns out that the parliamentary Armenia is not enshrining democratic values but is moving backwards, towards the past of the Communist Party.”

“With 131 votes, the ‘number of Nikol’ unanimously elected the Chairman of the National Assembly. Keep your ears open for Brezhnev.”

“As if this was not enough, it turned out that the neo-Bolshevik leaders want comfort for their hearts.”

“They announced that the offices of the members of parliament need renovations.”

“Apparently, for those who write laws, an office is not enough; a rest room is also needed.”

“You have no sense of taste.”

“Hey guys, have you already forgotten the lists of grandfathers and grandmothers, the poverty of the people, low pensions and salaries, unemployment, and the need for efficiency in public spending? Or has the ‘brave’ mandate and comfort washed away everything?”
