It Is Not Excluded That a Decision to Arrest Aram Harutyunyan Will Be Made Today

As of yesterday, the investigative body has not submitted any petition to arrest former MP Aram Harutyunyan. According to ArmLur.am, it is not excluded that today law enforcement may make a decision to arrest him.

The media outlet has contacted the Prosecutor General's Office and the Special Investigative Service to understand when the petition will be submitted. We are currently awaiting a response.

It is noteworthy that businessman Silva Hambardzumyan claimed regarding the MP that he had given a bribe of 14 million USD to obtain a license for mining operations. The last extraordinary session of the National Assembly of the 6th convocation was precisely about this issue; the agenda included the matter of granting consent to initiate criminal prosecution against him and to deprive him of his freedom, but there was ultimately no quorum during the recent four-day session.
