10,000 Dollars to Zarouhi Mejlumyan for Reopening the Case of Mher Yenokyan: Narek Malyan
Discussions around the possibility of granting clemency to Mher Yenokyan, sentenced to life imprisonment, continue to circulate online.
Narek Malyan, an advisor to former Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, posted on his Facebook page accusing journalist Zarouhi Mejlumyan of receiving funding from the 'Soros' foundation to reopen the case of Mher Yenokyan.
“This is for all the naive people who still believe that Zarouhi Mejlumyan heroized a murderer for free.
Grant
From- Soros
To- Zarouhi Mejlumyan
For what purpose - to reopen cases of life-sentenced prisoners.
Note: From the money of the deceased child of Agajanov, $10,000 belonged to murderer Mher Yenokyan, $10,000 to murderer Aram Harutyunyan, and $10,000 to journalist Zarouhi Mejlumyan. In total, $30,000 equivalent shared among these brothers,” wrote Narek Malyan.
Mher Yenokyan, a murderer, has received awards from the Soros foundation. The entire apparatus has been mobilized for the glorification and heroization of this murderer. The brainwashing has been ongoing for 10 years.
Zarouhi Mejlumyan responded on her Facebook page to Narek Malyan, stating that she will take legal action for invading her personal life and making threats.
“For invading my personal life, spreading thousands of threats, disseminating hate speech, discrimination based on status, and organized psychological terror, criminal liability is provided. I am going down that legal path,” she wrote.
Liana Doydoyan, a founding member of the 'Information Freedom Center' NGO, also accused journalist Zarouhi Mejlumyan and the 'Hetq' website of publishing materials based on grant funding.
“No, enough of linking unconditional love with a murderer now, beloved.... It cannot be, Love is strong, it does not tolerate lies, a dagger will just as fiercely crush whoever plays with it. Have you not thought that there was no love and there could never be? Zarouhi, you do not convince, no matter how much you try to speak with claims of facts, now you also say there’s an invasion into your personal life. No, Zarouhi, if you were honest. As a journalist, you could not visit a death row inmate frequently or at all legally; there was only one option – to be a married woman, visiting the prison legally and having details not just for this case but for others as well. And the editor of Hetq, allow me to say, certainly could not be unaware of your marriage, but it has not been stated, and you have continued to publish articles about Mher,” she stated.
The editor of Hetq should have something to say today (I say this with regret, as one of the founding members of the Association of Investigative Journalists, a former journalist of Hetq, and with serious expectations that Edik will speak at least regarding publications about Mher authored by Zarouhi since 2013). Could it also be that Hetq decided to fabricate a marriage for Zarouhi to ensure the relevance of the topic and the sustainability of grant programs? They remained silent as if not disclosing professional methods; in many cases, Hetq journalists have used the method of transformation to write materials, and this seems to be a method where the end justifies the means. Zarouhi, you are not honest now even for the sake of humanitarian motives to see a murderer free; you must leave your public office for the sake of justice, and yes, you must be completely honest yourself. In a topic that stirs public interest and passions, you must also be ready to open your personal matters for the sake of justice. Otherwise, you do not convince. Love is a dagger; it will crush whoever plays with it,” she wrote. Info from news.am.
It should be noted that information has been circulating for several days that Mher Yenokyan, sentenced to life imprisonment, will soon be released. Reports suggest that the clemency commission, led by Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan, has issued a positive conclusion regarding the clemency proposal for Mher Yenokyan, and he will soon be granted clemency.
Reminder: Mher Yenokyan was sentenced to death on November 29, 1996, for the murder of his classmate, Joseph Agajanov. According to the court ruling, the crime was committed by Yenokyan together with his friend, Aram Harutyunyan, a student at the agricultural institute, where they brutally murdered Joseph Agajanov at his home.
