Manvel Grigoryan Released for Different Reasons: Details from 'Zhoghovurd'
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that on Friday, the court decided to change the preventive measure imposed on MP General Manvel Grigoryan, releasing him on a bail of 25 million drams. The official reason provided was his health condition; medical documents were submitted to the court indicating that Grigoryan's health was incompatible with his detention.
However, 'Zhoghovurd' has learned that Grigoryan's release is also linked to another factor. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case against him is nearing completion, and the investigation body is expected to send it to court soon. Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that the prosecution has appealed the first instance court's decision to release Grigoryan in the appellate court. According to Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan, Grigoryan could hinder the conduct of the preliminary investigation. However, considering that the investigation is nearly complete, this assertion is unfounded.
At best, he may exert a certain influence on the witnesses involved in the trial, but after all the commotion, it is unlikely that Grigoryan will attempt such actions.
