Unfortunately, the Majority of People Believed Nikol Pashinyan: Arpine Hovhannisyan

The primary and most painful consequence is, of course, the inevitable reduction of a significant number of public servants.

This was stated by Arpine Hovhannisyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia, on her Facebook page, regarding the government's bill to cut the Ministries of Culture, Diaspora, Sports, Agriculture, and Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources.

In her post, she specifically mentions:

“Dear colleagues, as expected, the homeland's government did not keep us waiting long. Just a week after the election results, on December 20, the government introduced the draft law on amendments and supplements to the law on the structure and activities of the Government.”

According to the draft, 5 ministries will be merged with other ministries. The project creates two immediate consequences:

  • The primary and most painful consequence is, of course, the inevitable reduction of a significant number of public servants.
  • Leaving people unemployed in the new year, our 'human-centered' government has once again confirmed that for it, easy solutions are more important than correct ones. This was one of the main concerns my colleagues and I raised throughout the entire campaign. But unfortunately, the majority of people believed Nikol Pashinyan, who today says that people voted knowing about the reductions.”

I wouldn’t have commented on this bill, especially before the New Year, if the opposition forces in Parliament weren’t busy waging star wars against each other or disrupting tree lighting ceremonies, while the representatives of the authorities have not considered how much time has passed since the ‘Republicans’ left.

People need to be informed about their upcoming prospects so that they can plan their next steps accordingly. I will address the content of the changes in a subsequent post.

P.S. I believe the Prime Minister will suggest that all the employees of these ministries go on strike as well, since they are not sportsmen, energy specialists, or farmers, just as the employees of the Ministry of Culture do not represent culture. And all this should happen without forgetting to be photographed against the backdrop of the programs laid by the previous government (on Saturday, Prime Minister K. Karapetyan inaugurated a factory in Vanadzor. But of course, there is no mention of this).

P.P.S. A note regarding the Prime Minister’s statement about being rewarded for a few votes by the previous government. One thing is clear: the previous government did not prioritize bringing votes in such a way that about 10 thousand soldiers would be brought from the front lines to vote in Goris, Kapan, and Vardenis.

P.P.S. 2 I will inform about the government's other surprises for public servants after the New Year.
