Macron Expresses Regret Over US Troop Withdrawal from Syria

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed deep regret regarding the decision to withdraw US troops from Syria.

"I deeply regret this decision made regarding Syria," he said at a press conference in Chad. This was reported by Reuters.

"To be allies means to fight side by side. This is the most important thing for a head of state and the leader of armed forces. Any ally must be reliable," he noted.

It is worth recalling that earlier, Trump announced the commencement of the withdrawal of American troops from Syria and noted that victory had been achieved against ISIS.
