How to Celebrate the Holidays: Tips from Armen Ashotyan
Put more soul than money into the holidays, and everything will be better.
Why can't we fully relax, enjoy, and celebrate the holidays? All our joys are marked by worries, appearances, and nerves. This was stated by the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, on his Facebook page.
The post mentions:
“Birthdays, New Year, weddings often turn into a knot of nerves, tangled with thoughts like 'I must get everything done', 'I don’t have enough money, I should borrow', 'I must not miss anything', 'What will my friends/relatives/aliens think?', 'Where will I park my car?', 'If I wear the same outfit, they have already seen it' and other anxiety-inducing complexes born from the dark amalgamation of thoughts in the brain and derived from the supreme goal of living for the eyes and words of others.
A gift can be symbolic, small, but filled with spirit and heart; the table can be modest yet delicious and familial.
Artificially complicated joy organized for the outside world, enriched with debts and tension, can never be complete; it cannot give a feeling of happiness or provide peace.
Enjoy life as it is; be natural, reject conventions and formalities; put more soul than money into the holidays, and everything will be better.
P.S. What I wrote on December 23, 2016, unfortunately, is still relevant today.”
