We are hopeful that the government will make fair decisions: T. Asoghik

The Director of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Museums and Archives, Rev. T. Asoghik Karapetyan, believes that the optimization of the Ministry of Culture is a misguided decision.

“The ancient, rich, and unique culture of the Armenians, which forms the authentic essence and radiance of our national identity, should have its own state agency. We are hopeful that the government of our Homeland will make fair and correct decisions,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

It is notable that from early morning, employees of the Ministries of Culture and Diaspora have announced a strike in protest against the optimization plans.

It is suggested that the Ministry of Culture may merge with the Ministry of Education and Science, while the Ministry of Diaspora may be dissolved.
