Young Men Hunt Bezoar Goat in Vayots Dzor
In Vayots Dzor region, a bezoar goat, listed in the Red Book, has been hunted.
According to Shamshyan.com, the incident occurred the day before at around 21:20. Police have apprehended two individuals suspected of illegal hunting from the administrative area of the village of Areni on the Yerevan-Meghri highway. Their identities have been confirmed as 30-year-old Vahagn Asatryan from the village of Taperakan in Ararat region and 32-year-old Vardan Khalpurqyann from Argishti Street in Yerevan.
The two were found in a Hummer vehicle with license plate 03 NO 030, where the body of a slaughtered animal was discovered, along with a Saiga MK type single-barrel shotgun, a Tikka T3 type single-barrel shotgun, and a Benelli type 12 mm caliber shotgun.
Photographers have reported that the deceased animal was a bezoar goat, which V. Asatryan hunted around 14:30 the same day from an area near the gardens owned by Vedi Alco LLC behind the Harsnasar restaurant complex. Materials are being prepared by the investigative department of the Yeghgnadzor division of the police regarding the incident. Several examinations have been appointed. The individuals apprehended on suspicion of poaching, V. Asatryan and V. Khalpurqyann, have been released.
