Singer Haykaram Gyovondyan Questioned in Double Hit-and-Run Case
On December 14, Haykaram Gyovondyan, a singer known as "Spitaktsi Haiko," was questioned as a witness in a fatal hit-and-run case that occurred on Khanjyan Street. The Investigative Committee reported that a suspect has been identified in this case: Araik Ch., the driver of a Kia Sorento 7 vehicle with military plates, who has been subjected to a preventive measure prohibiting him from leaving.
It is recalled that at around 07:40 on December 14, the driver of a Kia Sorento 7 struck 68-year-old Knarik Petikian while she was crossing the street at an unauthorized section, in front of Vernissage on Khanjyan Street.
Later, the victim was struck again by another vehicle, a Range Rover, driven by 46-year-old Haykaram Gyovondyan. The Range Rover has been moved to a specially protected area of the Yerevan Traffic Police, and "Spitaktsi Haiko" underwent a medical examination, which confirmed that he was sober. An investigation has been launched in connection with the incident.
