No Political Pressure: Mark Grigoryan on His Resignation
There has been no pressure from any political force regarding my resignation from the position of director; the reasons for my resignation are entirely on a different level. This statement was made today by Mark Grigoryan, the Executive Director of Public Radio, during a meeting at the National Press Club, briefly referring to his resignation.
Grigoryan noted that although he had come to the pre-arranged meeting, he refuses to provide further explanations. “I ask you to understand that my situation and the situation around me is so emotional that it would be appropriate for me to apologize to you today and not speak,” said Grigoryan, promising that when the emotional intensity subsides, he will meet and talk.
It is worth recalling that information circulated yesterday stating that Mark Grigoryan had been dismissed from his position as Executive Director of Public Radio in accordance with his request. Earlier, it had been reported that employees were preparing to hold a protest demanding his resignation.
