Avinyan Receives Letter from Russian Deputy Prime Minister: Will Gas Prices Change?

According to 168.am, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak has sent a letter to the government of Armenia, specifically to Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, stating that the price of Russian gas at the border will be $215 per 1,000 cubic meters, and this is non-negotiable.

We attempted to get a comment from T. Avinyan. However, his office manager, Varag Sisseryan, said that Avinyan has meetings throughout the day and cannot respond. Instead, the office will provide a response to the inquiry within 5 days, according to established procedures.

It is worth noting that the current contract for the supply of Russian gas is set to expire on December 31. Acting Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Garegin Baghramyan announced about 10 days ago that regardless of this, there will be no interruption in gas supplies, and the new price will be announced after the completion of negotiations.

Additionally, at present, Armenia purchases gas at the border for $150.
