Videos About Echmiadzin Mayor Considered Pornographic, Criminal Case Initiated

Videos circulating on the internet about Diana Gasparyan, the current mayor of Echmiadzin and former candidate, have been deemed pornographic, leading to the initiation of a criminal case.

The police's press service confirmed to Aysor.am that a criminal case has been opened based on Part 1 of Article 263 of the Armenian Criminal Code, which addresses the distribution, advertisement, and selling of pornographic materials, including printed publications, cinema and video film materials, images, or other pornographic objects, as well as their preparation for these purposes.

It is noted that in the days leading up to the extraordinary mayoral elections in Echmiadzin on October 21, pornographic videos were disseminated through various means, and false news was circulated claiming that the individual depicted in the videos was Diana Gasparyan, a member of the Civic Contract party who was the acting mayor of Echmiadzin at that time.
