Three Main Candidates for Presidential Elections in Artsakh
The newspaper "Haravard" reports that the main candidates for the presidential elections in Artsakh, scheduled for 2020, are already taking shape. The first to enter the race is the former Prime Minister of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, who has been particularly active recently, making posts on Facebook and starting a series of meetings in Artsakh and Armenia.
The second candidate is the current Speaker of the National Assembly, Ashot Ghulyan, who is also engaged in political consultations, albeit not publicly for now. The third candidate is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Masis Mayilyan, who has significant diplomatic experience. It is highly likely that events in Artsakh will enter an active phase in the middle of next year.
It remains unclear whom Bako Sahakyan and the security forces will support, as they do not appear to be in a hurry. Some time ago, Bako Sahakyan's candidate was considered to be Arshavir Gharamyan, who was one of those responding to Sasun Mikaelyan.
