In Artsakh, They Assume What Mamedyarov Talked About in Terms of Understanding
Stepanakert has always stated that it welcomes the meetings of representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan within the framework of the negotiation process of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group. This was mentioned by Davit Babayan, the press secretary of the President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan, on his Facebook page.
Babayan's post specifically states:
“Regarding the statement made yesterday by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov about reaching an understanding during negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Milan, we can assume that, first of all, it is about the fact that Baku has finally recognized the necessity of maintaining the principles of a peaceful resolution. Secondly, Azerbaijan is on the path of acknowledging the need for the official participation of Stepanakert in the negotiation process. And thirdly, Azerbaijan is ready to recognize the Republic of Artsakh.
If there are appropriate agreements and this acknowledgment by Azerbaijan, then we can speak about a new quality of the negotiation process.”
